The Gala


 The Gala is a mall project by Valiram with an aspiration to be the jewel of Malaysia.
Filled with greenery spaces and luxurious retail, it creates a balance
between concrete and nature for a brand new shopping experience in Kuala Lumpur.







The Name - The Gala


The word Gala is defined as a grand social occasion with special entertainment or performances. We wanted to bring that spirit of celebration to this space, while conveying a sense of elegance and luxury. The Gala is a sanctuary where nature
and luxury collide, where travellers can indulge in their whims and fancies. The Gala is a party that never ends.













The Shape


We drew inspiration from the aerial view of the satellite building map. A symbol of sophistication, we incorporated it into the logo  to give it a sense of identity.

The signature shape was added to the letter “g” in the word “Gala” to create a more interesting typeface.











The Element



The crown is a symbolic headgear that is typically
 worn by a monarch.

This element was incorporated into our logo to communicate how each traveller who passes through The Gala is valued, beloved and treated with great care – just like a king. 









The Colour



A party this extraordinary deserves a colour palette to match.

To reflect the Gala’s spirit of indulgence and grandeur, we drew inspirationfrom gemstones, picking shade that reflect a sense of refined luxury and elegance.

We also incorporated the shopping area’s forest theme with the inclusion of natural, earthy tones.






The Mnemonic


A dome silhouette was incorporated into the visuals. The shape was derived from the curvature of the letter ‘G’ in Gala.

Besides acting as a mnemonic device, it is also used to represent a gateway to endless indulgence, conveying that the Gala is a safe sanctuary where people can immerse themselves in nature and luxury at the same time.
